With a hectic life and a need for a completely relaxing getaway for the end of the year, I called Jo. She is a great listener and with her creative background and insight into the kind of things we needed from a holiday she was able to put together the perfect package. I was so tired at the end of the year I didn’t want a huge time difference to cope with – we just needed to be looked after and some good weather. But Jo knew it wouldn’t be quite as simple as that and knew the right sort of hotel, the right kind of package and a fuss-free booking. The Amavi in Paphos felt absolutely right for us. It is sophisticated and relaxing. It is beautifully designed, 5-star service and quality but there were no worries about the bill at the end as the package Jo put together made that so easy. I didn’t spend hours and hours on comparisons and internet searches – Jo just knew. We had a great Christmas away. The weather was ideal for us. We gave Jo a tricky brief (one that we have struggled to meet ourselves for a few years!)… We wanted a mix of sun, sea, city, relaxation, activities, culture and a hotel with a room configuration that suited our family of four (two teenage boys who definitely don’t want to share a bed or sleep on a pull-out anymore). The primary objective – happy/non-bored boys = happy relaxed parents! Jo came back with five different options for us to consider – some short haul and some long haul but all within budget and meeting the brief in different ways. It was great to have options to consider and to help us focus in on what was important to us as a family – plus ideas that we never would have come up with ourselves. One proposal jumped off the page though – a two centre trip to Miami and Mexico! 3 Nights in an Art Deco Hotel in South Beach and then onto Playa Mujeres, Cancun. Miami certainly ticked the ‘city’ box – shopping, sightseeing, food and beach. We even had an airboat tour of the Everglades to see Alligators and turtles which was incredible. Dreams Playa Mujeres was the perfect hotel for us – all inclusive, loads of activities and food choices for the boys, the perfect two bedroom accommodation, multiple pools and private beach. The Yucatan Peninsula was an ideal location for a family with teenage boys! So much to do they – Boat trips to Islands, Natural Water Parks, Mayan ruins and adrenaline sports in the beautiful Cenotes. The boys (and us!) voted it one of the BEST holidays we’ve ever had – it ticked all the boxes for us all and we would definitely go back to Mexico as there is so much more to do there. Jo’s ideas, advise and attention to detail in terms of locations, flights, transfers, hotels and even room types was second to none. We are looking forward to our next adventure and can’t wait to see what ideas she comes up with for us next. Louise & family went to Miami & Mexico in July 2023.
