Top 10 Most Futuristic Hotels In The World - In the ever changing world of the hotel industry, the future definitely looks interesting. Through technology and the continual quest for innovation, the human mind has been able to develop outstanding and unique architectural designs that will probably seem impossible to the average person. From an underwater metropolis to a flying cloud here are 10 of the most futuristic hotels in the world. Some seem to defy the laws of natural physics and some are still only concepts, but travellers can be guaranteed of two things – they will be both spectacular and very expensive…
1. Hotelul Burj al – Arab, Dubai, UAE
The first and only completed futuristic hotel in the world today, the Burj al –Arab is the most luxurious and futuristic hotel in the world. It has the architectural shape of a sailboat and is built on an artificial island. With a height of 180 feet, it boasts 8,000 square miles of area covered in gold leaf and 24,000 22 carat square feet of marble.

2. Hotelul Apeiron – Dubai, UAE

The Apeiron will be the second 7 star hotel in Dubai when completed. Still under design, this magnificent structure truly defines what futuristic means. Taking on the shape of the wings of Apeiron, the two merging towers can hold up to 350 luxury suites, with the first 2 floors containing butterflies and insects. The hotel will also contain its own private lagoons, shops, beaches, cinemas and art gallery. Truly a futuristic infrastructure indeed.

3. Death Star Hotel – Baku, Azerbaijan

4. Hotel Hydropolis – Dubai, UAE

5. Poseidon Underwater Resort – Near Fiji

The concept of this hotel was pioneered by Bruce Jones, President of Submarines Inc, who spent most of his life building and designing submarines. The hotel will be 12 meters underwater and will have 22 51 square meter rooms. Also, a private jet will be available to take passengers from the airport straight to the hotel.

6. Manned Cloud – Flying Hotel, France

Conceptualized by Jean – Marie Massaud, the Manned Cloud is a flying hotel that will travel around the earth at 170kph. It will be an ecological hotel containing its own library, gym and spa and will be able to house up to 40 passengers.

7. Waterworld Hotel – Songjiang, China

The Waterworld Hotel, designed by the Atkins, will be based on one natural element, water. Aside from a 400 room capacity, the hotel will also have public areas that will be underwater. Also it will have its own luxurious private pool and will cater to extreme sports such as bungee jumping and climbing.

8. Hotel Helix – Abu Dhabi, UAE

This hotel will have a normal floor feature, but will spiral down from top to bottom. This unique structure will have a temperature that will be regulated by an indoor waterfall and will use solar energy to power its facilities. It will cater to 208 rooms and will have a rooftop swimming pool.

9. Aeroscraft Flying Hotel – California, USA

10. Skywalker Hotel – Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

The Skywalker hotel will be the first orbiting hotel in the world. This will definitely fill the hearts of thrill seekers and would be astronauts. The hotel will be flying passengers via space shuttle at 28,000 kph and will be residing at commercial space station 515 km above earth.

These hotels are amazing! I can only dream about staying at one of these futuristic swanky accommodations. The Waterworld Hotel in China and the Manned Cloud in France are beyond my imagination! I never knew places like these exist. I wonder if they will ever be able to build a hotel that tops these??
