Competition: win a skiing holiday to beautiful South Tyrol

South Tyrol
Europe offers some of the best skiing in the world and South Tyrol, a resort nestled in the beautiful Italian Domolite mountains, also offers truly breathtaking scenery and of course the most important thing – a plentiful supply of the white stuff. Well now you have a chance to visit for yourself as South Tyrol are running a competition for a fantastic week’s skiing holiday and £1000 of Salomon ski gear, something we’d personally love to enter if we could!

The area (which has been recently named an UNESCO World Natural Heritage site) is a dream like ski destination with excellent accommodation options, gorgeous unspoilt views and eight resorts which together form the world’s largest ski network. You’ll have the opportunity to downhill or cross-country skiing or snowboarding on the picturesque slopes including the famous World Cup slopes of Saslong and Gran Risa which is known for having vertical drops of over 400m and inclines crossing 50%. The area is a great location for ski-mountaineering, snow shoe hikes and and ice wall climbing. Watch this video to find out what makes this resort so special…

The scenery of Fanes-Senes Natural Park is another reason to choose South Tyrol for your ski trip. The beautiful protected park 25,000 hectares covers of the mountain range and can be viewed while skiing on the Sellaronda Tour – the most recognisible ski route in the area. Foodies will also appreciate the many excellent restaurants in the resort. Despite its fairly small size South Tyrol it has more Michelin start restaurants than any other region in the country – and that’s definitely saying something for a food centric place like Italy! Try Tilia Restaurant for French/Mediterranean cuisine and fabulous mountain views or St Hubertus which uses only locally sourced produce.
