Travel Shark Competition on GlobalGrasshopper.com

Whether you have started a travel blog as a business or you’re just a gap year escapee anytime you go on a trip — whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a few month-long mega-vacation — you’re coming home with some stories. Whether good or bad there’s always something to tell your friends, family and loved ones when the jet lag subsides! For example did you get lost in the heart of Prague and end up meeting a beautiful stranger? Did you miss your connecting flight and spend an amazing weekend stranded in Vancouver seeing all the sites?

TravelShark — an online travel company — loves hearing these travel blog stories. In fact, they love them so much that they recently launched a social media contest called Trip in a Tweet and are inviting travel bloggers and all others in the known universe to share their best travel tales in 140 characters or fewer.

The prizes

There are so many great prizes to be won! To sweeten the deal, TravelShark will be awarding a weekly prize to their favourite “tweet.” The prizes aren’t the usual boring swag, either. They include things like a Canon EOS Rebel T3 Digital Camera, an iPad, and a Garmin GPS. That’s a pretty good return on a 140-character investment!

Contest details

Trip in a Tweet kicked off last week, and they’ll be announcing different themes every Tuesday for as long as people seem to be having fun with them.

This week’s theme is Your Purest Moment of Travel Joy

So, if you have the perfect travel blogging story for a pure moment of travel joy, visit the Trip in a Tweet homepage for details on entering the contest (anyone can enter, even if they don’t have a Twitter account).

This week’s winner will take home a new iPad!
