The Philippines is a backpackers heaven. The country has 7107 islands to choose from, with jaw dropping beaches and waters teeming with marine life. The Philippines is often skipped by most travellers due to some exaggerated negative publicity that the country usually gets from the foreign media. But for those who travel to the Philippines, they find a paradise of white sand beaches, crystal clear water, fresh tropical fruit and seafood and they meet fun loving Filipinos who are globally known as the most hospitable people in the world. Here are ten pictures that will make you book your tickets now and fly to the Philippines.
Bais Sandbar, Negros Oriental

Banaue Rice Terraces, Northern Luzon

Coron, Palawan

Kawasan Falls, Cebu

Secret Lagoon, El Nido

Boracay, Aklan

Mayon Volcano, Albay

Marimegmeg Beach, El Nido

Nacpan and Calitang Beach, El Nido

Bangui Windmills, Ilocos Norte

These are just some of the sights that a lot of foreign backpackers are missing when they skip the Philippines. There are thousands others to choose from. The Philippines is truly a backpacker’s haven that no one should miss.

I agree with everyone else here- these pictures are gorgeous. It would be amazing to be able to see these beautiful sights in person. I have a lot of Filipino friends who go and visit their families back on the islands and they always say how beautiful and great it is there. Visiting would be pretty awesome. Is it hard to go from island to island? If so, are there some islands that are better to go to over others because of lodging or transportation options?

Great Pics! I’ve been to the Philippines and I fell in love with country. Really beautiful. Unfortunately the country’s geography hurts it tourism wise as it is not landlocked with the rest of SE Asia. So a lot of travelers skip it.
You need to show the beach in Boracay and the Chocolate Hills in Bohol. Incredible!

It is strange that so much beauty is wrapped up in the Philippines. I know a family who lives there, and from their descriptions it is essentially a third world country. To see this side of this place is just wonderful. Nature might just be one of the aspects of these islands which makes life worth living. That water is gorgeous and everything else too! The photography is just superb as well.

These are stunning photos. The Philippines looks like a destination with drop dead gorgeous scenery. I’ve marched my sandals over quite a chunk of SE Asia but have yet to touch down here. These photos inspire me to do so soon!

I love how you promote our own country through your blogs and your photography. These are stunning photos. Many foreigners skip the country in favor of other southeast asian countries — well, they are missing all these. I have a couple here i need to visit too. And you have not even included Batanes yet!
