Where to find your inner stuntman on your travels

Find your inner stuntman

Not everyone wants to spend their travels reading a book under a palm tree, for those seeking more of an adrenaline rush there’s always the option of an adventure travelling trip – it will get you out of your comfort zone, build your confidence and even provide a bit of physical exercise at the same time. Why not go that one step even further and recreate your favourite film stunts on your travels? If this kind of thing pings your pong, then the fun folks over at Cheapflights have very skilfully researched exactly where to travel to be able to mimic your favourite film stars in your most cherished action packed films.

For starters, have you ever fancied reenacting one of the most spectacular Bond stunts of all time, where 007 throws himself the Arkangel Chemical Weapons Facility in GoldenEye? Well if you take yourself off to Switzerland and head to the Contra Dam near Lugano you can actually partake in a Bungee Jump at the very same spot! Other nearby ‘James Bond’ worthy activities to get involved in include skiing and rafting, Swiss style!

If you’re a Lara Croft fan (and would prefer to travel to warmer climes) then Hong Kong is the place to fly out to. This is where everyone’s favourite female adventurer (and her sidekick) leap from one of the top floors of the Two International Finance Centre building in Hong Kong wearing only wingsuits. Okay this one maybe a little more dangerous to copy exactly, but not too far from the stunt site you’ll find other great activities to get your pulse racing; from rock climbing to kung fu lessons.

More adrenaline fuelled stunt activities listed are inspired by hire wire walking in New York from ‘The Walk’, scaling buildings in Dubai featured in ‘Mission Impossible’ and the skydiving antics in ‘Point Break! Enjoy!

Ever since he was knee-high to a grasshopper Al has always been a sucker for an adventure. As a kid he was lucky enough to be taken along on exotic far flung family jaunts and since then he's developed a taste for new cultures. From the sizzling street markets of Bangkok to the alligator infested waters of the Florida Everglades, he loves to be fully immersed in his surroundings, soaking up the sights, sounds and smells of every new destination he visits. Travelling and writing aside, he has spent many years working in the fine wine trade and certainly knows his clarets from his chiantis. He also has a special fondness for craft beer and all things artisan as well as his favourite destinations; Jamaica, Austria, Netherlands, Thailand and Mauritius.
