Anytime you go on a trip — whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a month-long mega-vacation — you’re coming home with some stories. Or you hope you are. TravelShark — an online travel company — loves hearing these travel stories. In fact, they love them so much that they recently launched a social media contest called Trip in a Tweet and are inviting the known universe to share their best travel tales in 140 characters or fewer.

The prizes

To sweeten the deal, TravelShark will be awarding a weekly prize to their favorite “tweet.” The prizes aren’t the usual swag, either. They include things like a Canon EOS Rebel T3 Digital Camera, an iPad, and a Garmin GPS. That’s a pretty good return on a 140-character investment.

Trip in a Tweet kicked off last week, and they’ll be announcing different themes every Tuesday for as long as people seem to be having fun with them.
