5 reasons you’ll love Karen Millen for your summer holiday wardrobe

From an investment military style coat to a compliment-inducing dress I once bought for an office Christmas party I’ve always been a genuine lifelong fan of Karen Millen, so when they contacted and asked me to talk about their newly launched Holiday Shop – a one-stop destination, bursting with wow-inducing chic summer styles then it was an easy to decision to make. Here’s why I love (and you’ll probably love to!) their styles for wherever you’re heading to this summer…

The classically beautiful styles never seem to go out of fashion

With a focus on classic elegance not just faddy trends which only last a season, the secret to Karen Millen seems to be timeless styles which you could easily see yourself wearing time and time again. That investment coat I mentioned earlier? Well it’s quite a few years old now and yet I still receive compliments about it whenever I pull it out of the wardrobe – a great investment indeed! The clothes in their new holiday shop? Well they very successfully pull off a striking use of colour, pattern and texture, giving them a funky stylish vibe, whilst retaining that classic feel.

They’ll give you advice on what to wear in whichever destination you’re heading to (love this!)

Heading to Barcelona but not quite sure how to keep up with the ultra stylish Spanish señoritas? If so Karen Millen’s new Holiday shop comes with fabulous suggestions from well respected fashion bloggers – if you have a search through you’ll find some great suggestions titled with the hashtag #whattowear. Take this geometric print midi wrap dress for example (which I think I’ve just fallen in love with!) it’s a perfect choice when you’re sweeping down the long cobbled streets of Las Ramblas on a hot summer’s night or even heading out for a cocktail or two at Barcelona’s famously swish beachside W hotel.

Alternatively, they also have suggestions for what to wear in Cannes, Mykonos and Cinque Terre that increasingly ubiquitous – and very beautiful – UNESCO World Heritage Site located on the Italian Riviera (great choices of locations too)!

…and they’ll even team you up with accessories

Once you’ve found your dream summer dress (or dresses), you’ll need to accessorize to really up the travel glamour stakes. This bit isn’t always easy, but the one-stop Holiday shop has got that sussed too. You can also buy summer accessories ranging from retro tortoiseshell sunglasses to gorgeous espadrille wedges to round off your chic summer look. I’ve personally got my eye on a pair of cat’s eye sunglasses and a very cute raffia trilby for when things get a little too hot on my summer travels.

They have a style for every occasion – from beach casual to a top end restaurant

Debuting a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours, tropical prints, beautiful embroidered lace dresses, stylish classic cuts, sexy strappy jumpsuits and both floaty and maxi summer dresses, they seem to have every summer occasion covered. These gorgeous floaty dresses are perfect for looking fab on the beach and these bold occasion dresses will ensure you stand out from the crowd when you head out for a swanky dinner or a cocktail or two.

You’ll feel like you’re in a film…an Audrey Hepburn film most probably

Okay I’m no fashion blogger (more of a clothes appreciator!) but the new summer collection seems to stand head and shoulders above any other high street summer wardrobe collection in terms of style and finesse. So much that when you head off to Cannes, Mykonos or wherever you’ve booked your summer trip, you’ll feel so elegant you’ll probably feel like you’re on a set of a film…most probably a Audrey Hepburn classic. A very easy way to inject a bit of old Hollywood glamour into your trip! Enjoy!

This post was brought to you in collaboration with Karen Millen, but all my opinions are my own. Like I mentioned in the intro, I’m a genuine life long fan 🙂

Born in England, with a few family roots from Bavaria, and a heart in Scandinavia I've always been a bit of a restless soul. My first true adventure began as a six month voyage around South East Asia as a fresh faced backpacker and ever since I've lived a semi nomadic existence, clocking up over 40 countries on trips and living in Dublin, South East Asia and Australia. I'm a lover of US Road Trips, deserted beaches bathed in warm glow of a sunset, Cuban mojitos, easy-on-the-eye travel destinations far away from the tourist crowds and all things Scandinavian - from cloudberry liquors to Scandi Noirs. When not wandering the world, you'll find me walking my rescue dog in leafy South West London, strolling around the Brighton Laines on random day trips, hunting for photogenic landscapes or daydreaming about returning to my all time favourite places in the world; Havana, Copenhagen, Italy, Iceland, Thailand and the frozen landscapes of a wintry Iceland.
