BonAppetour – dine with locals special discount code offer

This is the first in the series of our new ‘Travel Discount’ section where we’re offering reader’s discount codes to save money on travel experiences we think you would enjoy. In this post you can eat your way around the globe and save 10% on the booking fee with the discount code GGD2 for  – a fabulous dining with locals experience available in over 80 cities around the world.

We’re all huge fans of authentic travel here and also anything that involves travel and doing things a little differently. When we heard about BonAppetour a new concept which enables travellers to connect with local hosts in order to join them for a unique dining experience in their own home then we were definitely more than a little eager to find out more.

To explain in a little more detail, all you need to do is choose a city (or browse the city options on the website) connect with a host, confirm dates, make a payment through BonAppetour’s secured services and then look forward to indulging in some authentic home-cooked food. It’s also a fabulous concept because as well as tasting authentic local cuisine, you’ll get to learn more about the culture of travel destination, meet new people and of course have plenty of fun at the same time!

To us the concept seems like the holiday equivalent of a trendy Supper Club – a cross between eating at a dinner party and a restaurant. You get the informality of a domestic setting but with the added benefit of a restaurant service – no cleaning, cooking, table-laying, serving or clearing up! Not a bad way to spend an evening at all!

Dine with locals

Currently there’s more than 80 cities around the world to choose from on the site with the most popular being Rome, Paris, Florence and Barcelona so guests can now choose from a large variety of interesting mouth-watering dining experiences. We had a search through the site and some of our personal favourites are a sensory dining in the dark experience in Barcelona, a Roman feast overlooking the Vatican, a Venetian dinner on a rooftop terrace in Venice and a typical Parisian dinner in classic XIXth century apartment a block away from the Champs-Elysées – divine!

As well as allowing users to reserve a meal at your chosen host’s place the site also allows you to easily communicate your food preferences and/or special dietary requirements using an in-built messaging system. There’s also reviews on the site made by the BonAppetour team as well as previous guests which will give you an idea of what kind of dining experience you can expect.
